Mark Littlewood appears on BBC Radio 5
He argued that whilst public sector workers should of course be treated respectfully, such an argument misses the point of the debate: a demand for more money.
Most people working in the public sector earn a better package than those working the private sector. Should relatively poor waitresses and bartenders, for example, subsidise relatively poor teachers and nurses. The last few years have been a torrid time for everyone but it does no justify a pay hike for public sector workers, who on balance do better.
The idea that there are severe cuts in the public sector are just not true and he dismisses the idea of investing our way out the recession.
