Ryan Bourne features in CityAM

Ryan Bourne, Head of Public Policy at the IEA, has featured in an article in CityAM, concerning the cost of living and how much money individuals have in their pockets.

The article references a previous IEA paper, Taxing problem: the UK’s incoherent tax system, which states that the failure of the government to adjust the 40p income tax threshold has resulted in millions of middle income earners being pulled into paying the higher rate of income tax. Although the proposal to raise the 40p tax threshold to £50,000 is welcomed, it is long overdue.
