Steve Davies speaks to BBC Look North

Tens of millions are being cut from Hull City Council . Following protests by Trade Unions yesterday in response to the closure of some public services such as libraries, Steve Davies spoke to BBC Look North to argue for the necessity of savings being made.

Dr. Davies argued that government savings are paramount. So far very few government cuts have actually taken place. The government is spending over 50% of national income and running a record peacetime deficit, which is wholly unsustainable.
