Ruth Porter talks to BBC Radio London
Ruth Porter indicated that we were likely to hear from the Office for Budget Responsibility that growth has been worse than expected. This would be especially bad news for the Chancellor, as it would mean breaking his fiscal rules to get the economy back on track.
The problem the government currently faces is that it needs to get public spending under control. Spending is currently too high meaning that taxes cannot be cut, inhibiting growth, Ruth Porter argued.
