The Rise of Power Politics – A Perspective from Across Europe

Leading think tank leaders from across Europe join EPICENTER Director Adam Bartha to paint a picture of their political landscape and address how believers of small and efficient governments can “put the genie back in the bottle” once the public health emergency is over. Will countries roll back their emergency legislations once the crisis has passed? Will the electorate rely increasingly on powerful politicians to rectify societal and economic problems? Where will the pendulum swing after the pandemic: will there be more public demand to check the power of elected politicians or will the people long for strongmen to resolve problems?

Panel:

  • Adam Bartha [Director, EPICENTER – Chairman of Event]

  • Nataliya Melnyk [Director, Bendukidze Free Market Center – Ukraine]

  • Cecile Philippe [Director, Institut economique Molinari – France]

  • Marek Tatala [Vice President, Civil Development Forum – Poland]
