Is the Northern Ireland Protocol working?

The Northern Ireland Protocol has raised several issues for UK policy makers and has been accused by many of not guaranteeing the secure trade between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK that it promised. Consequently, there are increasing calls for the Government take unilateral action to ensure that the terms of the Good Friday Agreement are adequately protected.

Victoria Hewson, IEA Head of Regulatory Affairs, has recently published a research paper on the impact of the Protocol in its current state and explains in this video why the Government is justified in taking unilateral action.
