You are invited to attend the Semi Final of The Economics Debate 2018, a national competition for universities which the IEA co-organises with UCL’s Economist’s Society each year.

You can register for this event here

Congratulations to the teams from UCL, LSE, Bristol University and Warwick University who made it through to this year’s Semi Final!

University Economics Societies from all over the UK get the opportunity to participate in a debating competition covering economic issues and ideas. This year, teams from Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, LSE, Oxford, UCL and Warwick universities entered to compete for cash prizes, internships and awards!

Teams who made it through from the Quarter Final will debate and be judged by a panel including the IEA’s Head of Education Dr Steve Davies, Senior Economist at Oxford Economics Carlos de Sousa, and leading British economist John Kay.

This will be followed by a drinks reception at what’s set to be a fantastic night for learning about economic arguments and networking. So we hope to see many of you there!
