The ETLS is jointly hosted by The Vinson Centre for the Public Understanding of Economics and Entrepreneurship at the University of Buckingham and the Institute of Economic Affairs. It ook place at the University of Buckingham from Wednesday 8th September to Friday 10th September 2021. The final day will be at the IEA in Westminster. Participants will have transport provided from Buckingham to London on the morning of 10th September.

The theme for the 2021 programme is the Future of Economic Thinking. Participants will be given the opportunity to hear from some of the top classical liberal academics in the UK and to discuss new frontiers in education, trade policy, money, and technology. There will also be an in-depth discussion on the history of economic thought and well as the opportunity to meet like-minded students. Participants will be studying or will have recently economics, politics or other social science disciplines.  Speakers include Professor James Tooley, Dr Steven Davies, and Lord Dan Hannan among others.

THINK 2021

Freedom Week is an annual, one-week seminar which teaches students about classical liberalism and free-market economics, and it’s entirely free to attend – there is no charge for accommodation, food, tuition or materials.

Alumni Events

Every year we have a get together of IEA Alumni for the chance to hear what the IEA has been doing, about our future plans and for you to let us know about your own plans and achievements. It’s also a great opportunity to meet up again with the people you met on the Summer Programme or at Freedom Week, while an IEA intern or at one of our events or conferences. You can also meet new people who share your interest in the ideas and principles the IEA explores and advocates.
